Pencil (6B,3B,HB) white pencil on coffee painted paper for the sepia effect. Just keeping my hands busy while I wait for the art shop to get the brushes I use....it's been over a month now!!! Me want to paint
First thank you and to answer your question...it's very simple,I take a cup of coffee (long,we drink espresso here but that wuoldn't be good) dipp the brush in it and paint the paper, wait for it to dry (or dry it with air drier) and do another coats until youget the tone you want, and that's it,it gives the paper a nice vintage tone. You can also use tea, wine and whatever else you can think of. Just remember to tape the paper to a rigid surface taping all along the edges, this way the paper will curl but than get flat again once dry (this is even if you just use water) Hope this helps
It's amazing. I don't know how you're able to make the skin look so real. I tried so hard and it still doesn't look like that. Do you make some kind of circular moves? I wish I'll become that talented!
Thank you! You know I don't know wichkind of movement I do....never though about it.But no,it's more up and down I think, and it's more about controlling the pressure. BUT,I'm doing now somenthing that I never used to do and that I learned here wich is blending using an eye shadow applier (clean of course)I learned that from an amazing pencil artist.I don't get that perfect finish when I blend like that so in the end I blend that way only for the base, than is all the pressure I apply.Wait let me look for her she's a loooot better than me with pencil...here [link] there's a FAQ there so you can have some more informatins, she gets such a smooth finish, probably cause she uses smooth paper and I don't that's why I get darker areas when I blend that way!Hope this helps
I hope you get to paint again soon!!!!!! but for now...WOW. I am always so jelous of you amazing artists that make it look SO real and make the most most beauuuttiful eyes! Absolutely stunning. ooooohhh i love it!
I am at the moment,a very small one (compared to my standards) for a friend here on DA,it's small so I can post it without spending lots of money for the shipping. And you....stop envy us and get to work,do you think I have enough experience to see talent in someone? Well I see it in you,I KNOW that you could easily reach this levels! Those horses you do for example, those are so detailed and well done, your gallery is weird because there are some drawings that are excellent and very promising but some other that, well it looks like they have been made some years ago,I can't explain that but with your impatience! I'm sure that you can reach great levels at drawing....you just have to draw! I also thing you could get REALLY GOOD at photomanipulations!I think you should sit done for a second and see what is it that you really enjoy doing and SPEND TIME on!
wasn't expecting that! Hahaha but it was nice to read thank you so much, thats the first 'get of your bloody ass and do something' comment that has ever worked on me now i wanna do something. *giggles* thank you so much!
I will try a few more paintings and photomanips in the near future. THANKS!
fantastic eyes, your works are always so alive, even though they have this definite feeling of your style. Like you can both see that they are drawn, and still they are alive - one of the best effects IMHO. wonderful~
it's the fact it doesn;t really look like a photo, that makes me fall for your work. it's the balance between it being an image created by you and having this aspect of *life* in it, multiplied by the great representation of subject matter and the complement to media too.
hard to put the feeling into words, but the two dimensions of "life" in artworks is what fascinates me. No meticulous CG copy-portrait conveys what a real artist-felt through work woudl offer, because when you draw through yourself, you dont just copy a moment, you put all the past and future moments into the image, you give it the whole aspect of a person, not just one photographic moment in time.
